Bonfire Studios has officially opened the doors to the Arkheron Closed Beta, welcoming players on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Windows PC through the Xbox Insiders Program. Running now until midnight PT on July 27, 2026, the technical test gives the industry-veteran development team a chance to test combat, controls, performance, matchmaking, and onboarding.

Quick Facts

  • Developer: Bonfire Studios
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC
  • Closed Beta Dates: Live now until midnight PT on July 27, 2026
  • Featured Modes: Spires (3v3 arena) and Ascension (15-team competitive mode)

How the Game Works

Developed by industry veterans at Bonfire Studios, Arkheron is a fast-paced PvP game featuring no fixed classes. Instead, teams of three build their abilities and playstyles dynamically by combining items during each match, allowing players to adapt to opponents and support teammates on the fly.

The test features two primary ways to play. Spires serves as a focused 3v3 arena designed for quick build testing, teamwork fine-tuning, and core combat practice. Meanwhile, Ascension operates as the game's peak competitive mode, dropping 15 teams of three onto a larger map to loot items, upgrade kits, and fight toward a final 3v3 battle at the top of the Tower. Ascension will be accessible during limited regional windows over the weekend.

Beta Progression and Rewards

Players participating in the technical test can test out cosmetic progression for the first time. By playing Spires and Ascension—opening chests, defeating monsters, completing Challenge Rifts, and scaling the Tower—participants earn Pages. These Pages unlock playtest-exclusive Prestige items that remain on the player's account after the beta concludes.

Because this is a technical test, developers note that players should expect bugs and active updates throughout the testing window. Participants can share feedback, report issues, and speak directly with the team via the official Arkheron Forums.
