HoYoverse has officially confirmed that two of its biggest titles on PlayStation 5, Zenless Zone Zero and Honkai: Star Rail, will crossover this winter. While specific details regarding how the two games will intersect remain limited, the collaboration is expected to involve an exchange of characters between the two universes.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.1 Update
Ahead of the winter collaboration, Zenless Zone Zero will receive its v3.1 update on July 29, 2026, to celebrate the game's second anniversary. This update brings several changes to the core experience:
- New Characters: Remielle Dan will be available throughout the entire update. Sigrid will arrive in the second phase.
- Character Re-runs: Dialyn, Ukinami Yuzuha, and Asaba Harumasa will return during the event.
- 50/50 System Changes: The developer is adjusting the gacha system to allow players to choose from a variety of different agents if they lose the 50/50 pull, intended to improve team-building options.
- Anniversary Rewards: Players can claim one free S-Rank character and their corresponding W-Engine. Options include Jane, Soldier 0 Anby, Hugo, Trigger, and Lucia.
New Gameplay and Seasonal Content
Version 3.1 also introduces a new permanent dungeon crawler-style mode inspired by the title’s original Hollow exploration gameplay, which will allow players to further power up the character Pyrois.
To mark the summer season, a new minigame will be added where players can collect seashells to trade at a souvenir shop. Participants can unlock a free outfit for the character Lucy, with additional swimwear outfits becoming available for Remielle Dan and Sigrid.
While players await further information on the winter crossover, the v3.1 update serves as the primary focus for the coming weeks, offering significant character additions and quality-of-life improvements to the gacha mechanics.
