Frogwares has officially confirmed that The Sinking City 2 is set to launch on PlayStation 5 on August 18, 2026. Pre-orders are now live on the PlayStation Store, with the studio opting for a $49.99 (£41.35) price point—a move aimed at positioning the title competitively against other premium survival horror games that frequently launch at $60 or higher.

Quick Facts

  • Release Date: August 18, 2026
  • Platform: PlayStation 5
  • Standard Price: $49.99 / £41.35
  • Premium Edition Price: $60

According to publishing director Sergiy Oganesyan, the decision to launch below the industry standard is about accessibility. "While most survival horror games today launch at $60 or more, we're launching at $49.99 because we want to be fair and give as many people as possible the chance to step into Arkham with us," Oganesyan stated.

Performance Upgrades and Development

The development of The Sinking City 2 has been uniquely challenging, with the team working remotely across Ukraine and beyond. Despite the difficult circumstances, Frogwares recently made the decision to migrate the entire project to Unreal Engine 5.8 with only two months remaining until launch. The studio indicated that the performance gains offered by the engine update were worth the effort required to implement the change late in development.

Premium Edition Bonuses

For those looking for extra content, a $60 Premium Edition is available. This version grants players 24-hour early access to the game. It also includes a bonus case set in The Holloway Manor, along with additional items that are also bundled into the Deluxe Edition.
