If you have been keeping an eye on your digital library, it is time to check your calendar again. A fresh wave of PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 games are set to lose their online functionality or face restrictions in July and August 2026. While no games are being pulled from the PlayStation Store entirely at this moment, the loss of server support often means that specific features—and sometimes even Platinum trophies—will become impossible to obtain.
Online Service Closures and Feature Restrictions
For players still active in these titles, here is the breakdown of what to expect over the coming weeks:
- DiRT Rally 2.0 (PS4): Online services for Racenet Clubs end on July 8. Other online features currently remain active.
- Madden NFL 23 (PS5, PS4): Online play and Ultimate Team modes will be disabled on July 13.
- New World: Aeternum (PS5): In-game transactions cease on July 20. The game's servers are scheduled to close permanently on January 31, 2027.
- Let It Die (PS4): In-game purchases will be removed on July 30, followed by a full server shutdown on August 31.
- Tearaway (PS4, PS Vita): The game's companion website, Tearaway.me, will shut down on August 13, removing associated creativity features.
- NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 (PS4): Online services are scheduled to end on August 20.
- WWE 2K Battlegrounds (PS4): Online services are scheduled to end on August 20.
- NHL 22 (PS5, PS4): Online services will be disabled on August 31.
- NHL 23 (PS5, PS4): Online services will be disabled on August 31.
Important Deadlines for PlayStation Users
Beyond specific game servers, there are other administrative deadlines to note. If you participate in the PS Stars loyalty program, ensure you redeem any accrued points by July 31. Any points remaining after this date will expire.
Additionally, for users in specific territories, the digital storefront landscape is changing. The PS3 store is closing in Mexico, Honduras, and Nicaragua this coming August. For the rest of the world, access to purchase content on the PS3 and PS Vita remains available until July 2027.
As always, if you are chasing a Platinum trophy in any of the affected titles, it is recommended to verify the current requirements for online-specific achievements before these services go dark.
