This issue has emerged following the game's delisting from digital storefronts and its subsequent re-release as Surviving Mars: Relaunched in 2025.

The core problem affects players who originally bought the 2018 version of Surviving Mars and its various add-ons. When the original game and its associated DLC were removed from all platforms to make way for the relaunched edition, it inadvertently created a situation where last-generation players, specifically those on PS4, are now unable to re-download the content they had previously paid for. This means that even if a player owns the original base game, they cannot retrieve their purchased expansions or additional content.

Publisher Paradox Interactive has acknowledged the existence of this problem. However, despite this acknowledgment, there has been no reported resolution since the issue was first brought to light shortly after Surviving Mars: Relaunched replaced the original product listings on the PlayStation Store. The ongoing lack of a fix leaves players without access to digital goods they legally acquired.

Reports from players who have contacted the publisher suggest that this specific access issue is confined to the PlayStation 4 platform. This observation implies that the method by which the PlayStation Store handled the delisting of the original Surviving Mars DLC, and the introduction of the new entries, might be a contributing factor.
