Rockstar Games has officially confirmed the pre-download schedule for Grand Theft Auto VI on PlayStation 5. Players who have secured their copy of the game through a pre-order will be able to initiate the download process starting November 10, 2026. This early access to the game files is intended to ensure that users are ready for the official launch on November 19, 2026. By starting the process early, players can avoid potential server congestion and ensure they are ready to play the moment the game unlocks.
Storage and Pre-Order Requirements
To accommodate the installation, players must ensure their PlayStation 5 console has at least 212GB of free storage space. Given the significant size of the game files, it is recommended that users manage their existing library to clear sufficient room before the pre-download window opens at local midnight on November 10. Access to this pre-download feature is strictly limited to those who have completed a pre-order purchase. If you have not yet pre-ordered, you will need to do so through the PlayStation Store to gain access to these early files.

The Ultimate Edition of Grand Theft Auto VI includes a specific suite of digital assets for players. These additions are designed to provide a head start in the game world upon release. The following items are included in this edition:
- Premium vehicles
- Exclusive weapons
- Specialized apparel
- Unique character actions
Players should verify their console storage capacity well in advance of the November 10 start date to avoid delays. By downloading the files ahead of the November 19 launch, users can bypass the need for a large day-one download, allowing for immediate access once the game officially unlocks. Ensure your PlayStation 5 is connected to a stable network to facilitate the transfer of the 212GB of data required for the installation. If your console is set to automatic updates, the system may begin the download process on its own once the window opens, provided the console is in rest mode and connected to the internet.
