Publisher Gravity Game Arise has announced it is bringing 32 classic 80s and 90s arcade titles from the Jaleco library to the PlayStation 5. The games will be split across two upcoming compilations, Jaleco Arcade Collection Vol. 1 and Jaleco Arcade Collection Vol. 2, both scheduled for release this winter.

Jaleco Arcade Collection Vol. 1

While the full list of games is still being finalized, the initial lineup for the first volume includes:

  • Aeroboto (Formation Z): A mech action game featuring transformation mechanics and fuel management.
  • The Astyanax (The Lord of King): A fantasy action title focused on axe-based combat.
  • City Connection: The classic driving game involving police evasion and world travel.
  • Cybattler: A space-based robot shooter with both long-range and beam saber combat.
  • Field Combat: A strategy shooter where players can capture enemies and add them to their army.
  • Naughty Boy: A forest-themed action game focused on suppressing monsters and burning bases.
  • P-47 The Freedom Fighter: A WWII-era aircraft shooter featuring ground-and-air combat.
  • Pig’s & Bomber’s: Survival action involving bomb-throwing pigs.
  • Saint Dragon: A side-scrolling shooter where players control a giant space dragon.
  • Shingen Samurai-Fighter: A Sengoku-era action game featuring power-up items based on the "Wind, Forest, Fire, and Mountain" strategy.

Jaleco Arcade Collection Vol. 2

The second volume shifts the focus toward sci-fi and fantasy classics:

  • Argus: A sci-fi shooter requiring players to manage separate ground and air weapons.
  • Avenging Spirit (Phantasm): An action game where the protagonist possesses enemies to utilize their specific abilities.
  • Earth Defense Force (E.D.F.): A sci-fi shooter with weapon-leveling mechanics and ship formations.
  • Exerion: A shooter where players must contend with "inertia" movement physics and limited ammo.
  • Iga Ninjutsu Den: A ninja-themed action game featuring collectible "Scrolls of the Five Gods" and unlockable Ninja Arts.
  • Makai Densetsu: A fantasy adventure title with shop and equipment management.
  • Plus Alpha: A fantasy shooter featuring ship transformations and roulette-based bonuses.
  • Pop Flamer: An action game where a mouse utilizes a flamethrower to pop balloons and clear stages.
  • Rod Land: A platformer starring fairy siblings using magic wands to combat enemies.
  • Soldam: A puzzle game based on sandwiching falling fruits to change their colors.

According to the publisher, both collections will feature quality-of-life tools common in modern retro releases, including save states, rewind functionality, and rapid-fire options. Additionally, players will be able to toggle between regional ROM versions for many of the included games.

Gravity Game Arise has not yet confirmed a specific release date beyond the winter window, nor has the company specified if these collections will receive a physical disc release.
