The latest patch for ZeroSpace on PC targets a variety of technical pain points reported during the initial Early Access window. The developers have prioritized stability and navigation, implementing fixes for crashes, performance-draining VFX, and UI inconsistencies.
Performance and Stability Improvements
Technical reliability is the primary focus of this update. Players who experienced crashes while viewing profiles or during loading screens should see these issues resolved. Performance has been addressed by adjusting how offscreen unit VFX are handled; instead of fading out, these effects are now removed immediately, which should help maintain frame rates during intense moments.
Other under-the-hood fixes include:
- Resolution: The resolution scale now defaults to 100%, correcting issues where some players encountered blurry or fuzzy visuals.
- Steam Integration: A bug that caused SteamVR to launch when a Valve Index was connected has been fixed.
- Quality of Life: The 'Close Game' function has been corrected, and general chat is now fully operational.
UI and Settings Adjustments
The development team has begun a wider UI overhaul, starting with more intuitive categorization within the settings menu. Users will find improved spacing, formatting, and scroll speeds in these menus, along with consistent capitalization. Additionally, control groups and unit name tooltips are now enabled by default, with tooltips appearing after a 150ms hover duration.
Gameplay and Balance Changes
Several adjustments have been made to gameplay, campaign missions, and multiplayer balance:
- Versus/Skirmish: Leaderboards are now functioning as intended, and the Xol cast range upgrade cost has been reduced from 400 to 200. Furthermore, the 'Random' selection in matchmaking will no longer assign the Xol faction.
- Campaign: A softlock bug affecting objective triggers in Operation Moby (mission 2) has been patched. The team also adjusted dialogue timing and victory timers for specific missions.
- Galactic War: Destroyed Starports will no longer display the unit they were producing prior to destruction.
The developers have included an in-game roadmap to provide transparency on future goals, which include further UI refinements and consistent resolution settings. Players are encouraged to continue reporting issues via the official bug report channel.
