A fresh update for Wuthering Waves has arrived, bringing a significant expansion to the game's world and systems. Players can now journey to the Land of Xuanfang, a new area within Mengzhou that encompasses the Xuanfang Hold, Eastern Xuan Peaks, Western Fang Peaks, and the Southern Yuan Hills. Access to this region is granted upon reaching the start of the Main Quest Chapter IV Act I, "The Wind Before the Storm."

New Resonators and Weaponry

The update introduces two new 5-star Resonators. Players can obtain Yangyang: Xuanling (Havoc/Sword) through the "Voices on Azure Feathers" Featured Resonator Convene. Joining her is Suisui (Glacio/Rectifier), who is available via the "Blessings From Dewy Winds" Featured Resonator Convene. To complement these characters, two new 5-star weapons have been added: the Azure Oath sword and the Firstlight's Herald rectifier, both available through their respective featured convenes.

Alongside these additions, players can now unlock a new resonance attribute for Rover: Electro. This transformation becomes available once you complete the Main Quest Chapter IV Act II, "Xuanling Sings, Storm Quelled."

Technical Improvements and Quality of Life

PC users will notice several technical upgrades designed to improve the PC gaming experience. The developers have implemented new resource compression technology to reduce the overall package size and added support for XeSS 3 frame generation. Additionally, the Pioneer Experience function has been integrated, providing an easier path through new and previous Main Quest Fast Track Events.

Other quality-of-life adjustments include:

  • Support for Resonator Voice Pack customization.
  • The addition of a Bioprinting function.
  • Optimized functionality for the Guidebook and Story Autoplay features.
  • Improved idle animations for the Echo Gallery and Enemies section.
  • Refined performance for the Rover character model.

New Challenges and Content

Combat enthusiasts have new content to tackle, including the "Tactical Hologram: Simulation" challenge featuring Denia and the second Endstate Matrix Cycle for versions 3.5 through 3.8. The update also brings a variety of new Echoes, such as the Thousand-Puppet Pavilion and the Fog Lionarch, accompanied by three new Sonata Effects: Lamp of Nether Road, Heart of Evil's Purge, and Song of Feathered Trace.

For those focused on customization, the update adds new outfits for Lynae and Chisa, along with various accessories, expedition motorbike models, and titles. A series of events is also launching, including the "A Glimpse of Xuanfang" exploration event, "Lament Recon: Tacet Crisis," and a 7-day login event titled "Gifts of Aftertune."
