Update 15.6 for World of Warships is now live on PC, bringing a significant shift to the game's progression systems and map dynamics. The headline change is the introduction of a new Battle Pass format that replaces the standard Event Pass, alongside major adjustments to Commander talents and the expansion of the Riposte map.
Quick Facts
- Battle Pass Format: Replaces linear progression with a strategic three-area map.
- Unique Commanders: Achievement-based triggers removed; talents now use staged scaling based on performance.
- Riposte Map: Now supports submarines and features expanded availability across Co-op and Random battles.
- New Ship: Italian super battleship Affondatore joins the game in Early Access.
- Freebies: All players can reset Commander skills for free during the first two weeks of the update.
A New Approach to the Battle Pass
The latest Battle Pass moves away from the traditional linear track. Players now navigate a strategic map divided into three distinct areas that unlock over the first two weeks of the update. By completing daily and weekly missions, you earn points to claim adjacent sectors. Each sector claimed rewards players with free items, including decals, premium containers, and a new 'Colorful Turquoise' enemy destruction effect. Those opting to upgrade areas with Doubloons gain access to additional rewards, such as the Spanish Tier VI cruiser Canarias and the 'Colorful Purple' destruction effect.
Commander Talent Overhaul
Wargaming has updated unique Commander talents to make them more reliable across a wider variety of battle types, including Asymmetric Battles. The previous requirement for achievement-based triggers has been removed. Instead, talents now feature staged triggers, where performance directly scales the power of the talent. To help players adjust to these changes, a free skill reset for all Commanders is available for the first 14 days of the update.
Riposte Map and Tactical Changes
The Riposte map has received a significant update, including a full underwater environment. Submarines are now playable on the map across all battle types. Co-op Battles will now feature a version with three Key Areas, while Random Battles introduce two versions featuring four Key Areas. These changes apply to Tier VI–IX ships.
Salvage for Victory: Affondatore
The Italian super battleship Affondatore—nicknamed 'the Sinker'—is currently available in Early Access before her official Tech Tree debut in Update 15.9. The ship features powerful main guns, SAP shells, and an Exhaust Smoke Generator. Combat Instructions on the ship charge as you land hits, boosting both speed and consumable reload times. Players can acquire the ship through the Salvage for Victory event using a combination of Credits, Elite Commander XP, Coal, or economic bonuses, with Personal Challenges offering extra Salvage Tokens.
Summer Festival Returns
The Summer Festival is back with a Mediterranean theme. Players can earn Summer Tokens by purchasing Doubloons to progress through a rewards bar. The new 'Wishing Wharf' feature allows players to spend Doubloons to potentially unlock rare vessels, including the Italian Tier X premium battleship Conte Verde, alongside other rare ships like Rhode Island, Suzuya, and Almirante Grau.
