Update 15.6 for World of Warships has arrived on PC, bringing a significant shift to the game's progression systems and map rotation. This update replaces the previous Event Pass format with a new, map-based Battle Pass and provides players with a temporary, free opportunity to reconfigure their Commander builds.

Battle Pass and Map Rotation Changes

The new Battle Pass invites players to navigate a strategic map divided into three sequential areas. As players earn Battle Pass Points via combat missions, they can choose specific paths through sectors to unlock rewards. While the system is free to participate in, players have the option to spend Doubloons to upgrade individual areas, granting access to additional rewards within those sectors.

Free highlights from the pass include Decals Premium containers, a Captain's Holdall Premium container, the Summer permanent camouflage, and the new Turquoise Explosion enemy destruction effect. Those who choose to upgrade areas can earn the Spanish cruiser Canarias, the Atlantic and Celestial Dragon permanent camouflages, and additional destruction effects like the "Boom!" and Purple Explosion.

Beyond the pass, the Riposte map has been adapted and is now officially included in the Random and Co-op Battle rotations.

Commander Skill Resets

In response to balance changes made to unique Commander talents, the developers are offering a full reset for all Commanders. Players can reset their skills individually or wipe the entire roster clean in a single click. This reset is available at zero cost, though it must be activated via the official website article regarding unique Commander talent changes.

Player Impact Summary

For the active player, this update requires two immediate actions to maximize efficiency. First, check the new Battle Pass interface to plot your path through the three map sectors; opting for the free route or the premium upgrade path will significantly impact which cosmetics and ships you acquire this season. Second, if you have been waiting to optimize your Commander builds, the free reset window is the ideal time to re-allocate points without spending resources. Wargaming is also collecting feedback on these changes via an in-game survey linked through their official update portal.
