Developer Bulkhead has confirmed that its upcoming tactical first-person shooter Wardogs has crossed one million Steam wishlists. The milestone arrives six months after the game's initial reveal and one month before its planned Early Access release.

Bulkhead has also outlined access details for the upcoming closed beta, running from August 21 to August 23. Players can request access directly through the Steam store page for an invite chance, or secure guaranteed entry by pre-ordering the title. The developer notes that pre-orders help the team gauge server requirements and ensure launch stability.

Early Access Pricing and Transparency

Wardogs launches into Steam Early Access on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at an entry price of $39.99 / £36.99. Bulkhead states that the price will gradually increase to $49.99 as content is added, moving to $59.99 for the full 1.0 release. A special supporter edition featuring cosmetic content will be available, but the developer emphasizes that this represents the sole monetization during the Early Access period.

In an unusual move for an upcoming release, Bulkhead published a video titled 'Ten Reasons Not to Buy Wardogs' to clarify what the game is and what players should expect. The team cautions that early adopters should not expect regular content drops, as focus will remain on core mechanics and the metagame. Bulkhead encourages players to refund the game if it does not meet expectations, noting that cancellations before release are welcomed if early adopters find the project isn't for them.

Built from the ground up as a PC-first mouse and keyboard shooter, the initial Early Access version includes 37 weapons, 27 vehicles, and three maps, with a fourth map planned. While controller support is included, the studio reiterates its design focus for PC players.
