Gaijin Entertainment has announced that the next major War Thunder update will introduce significant upgrades to aircraft avionics, specifically targeting Multi-Function Displays (MFDs) and Helmet-Mounted Displays (HMDs).
New Multi-Function Display Capabilities
The update expands the functionality of cockpit displays across several airframes. The Ka-52 attack helicopter is set to receive a suite of new MFD pages, covering compass navigation, flight instruments, radar data, and weapon systems.
Additionally, radar pages will be integrated into the cockpits of the following aircraft families:
- MiG-21 series
- F-104 family
- Japanese T-2 and F-1
- Mirage F1 family
Expanded Helmet-Mounted Displays
Players will also see updates to HMD systems, providing better situational awareness through new and improved visual aids. The RAH-66 will be equipped with a new Kaiser HMD, while the Chinese JH-7A2 and J-11 will receive their own HMD implementations.
American pilots flying the F-4J will gain access to an upgraded VTAS system. This specific system adds target lock functionality and radar warning indicators directly around the pilot's aiming circle, allowing for more immediate feedback during combat.
Gaijin noted that a complete list of affected aircraft will be published alongside the official release of the update.
