War Thunder has kicked off its latest historical aviation event, bringing the Korean War 'Black Thursday' conflict to PC players. Running from July 23 at 11:00 GMT through July 27 at 11:00 GMT, the limited-time engagement recreates the historic April 12, 1951 clash where Soviet MiG-15 jet fighters intercepted American B-29 Superfortress bombers and their escort fighters.

- Dates: July 23 (11:00 GMT) to July 27 (11:00 GMT), 2026
- Modes: Realistic and Simulator Battles

Event Objectives and Rules
Players can access the scenario directly from the 'Events & Tournaments' tab within the hangar. The gameplay divides objectives based on faction selection: American pilots must protect AI-controlled B-29 bombers as they fly to attack the airfield, while Soviet pilots are tasked with shooting down those same bombers before they reach their target.
Each participant is granted three respawns per battle. The matches utilize Rank V aircraft from the era, specifically pairing the Soviet MiG-15 against the American F-86A-5.
Player Impact and Rewards
Beyond experiencing a recreation of one of the early conflict's most infamous aerial battles—where US forces suffered heavy bomber and fighter losses against Soviet interceptors—pilots receive a flat 30% boost to their earnings. The active bonus applies directly to both Silver Lions and Research Points accrued during event matches, offering a solid progression incentive for players grinding through Rank V aviation trees.
