Valve has released a concentrated standalone update for Deadlock on PC, focusing entirely on rebalancing the hero Celeste. While characters such as Graves, Victor, Ivy, Seven, and Paige match her dominance in the Cursed Apple, Celeste's early-game mobility, healing combination, and teamfight ultimate prompted immediate developer intervention following player pushback.
Quick Facts
- Platform: PC
- Release Window: Out now (August 2026)
- Focus: Hero rebalancing specifically targeting Celeste and related items
Item and Ability Nerfs
The patch introduces direct nerfs to two items heavily favored by Celeste mains, which also impacts other characters:
- Radiant Regeneration: Heal effect when casting an ability dropped from 70 to 65.
- Restorative Locket: Spirit Resistance lessened from 10% to 8%, affecting heroes like Shiv and Lady Geist.
- Dazzling Trick: Cooldown increased by two seconds (though recovered at tier three), silence boost at max rank reduced from +1.5 seconds to +1.25, and tier-two barrier increase dropped from 80 to 70 with spirit scaling adjusted to +0.76x.
- Radiant Daggers: Loses 1% of its Spirit Amp per stack at base level, moved to the tier-three upgrade to cap at 11%.
Ultimate Adjustments
Celeste's ultimate ability, Shining Wonder, received the most significant adjustments to address its impact on teamfights:
- Bounce Range: Lowered from 17.5 meters to 16.5 meters, making counterplay easier if teams spread out.
- Base Damage: Dropped from 165 to 140 per hit.
- Spirit Scaling: Reduced from 0.9x to 0.6x, though the tier-two upgrade now boosts spirit scaling by an additional 0.45x for endgame builds.
This balance update arrives seven months after the Old Gods, New Blood release, following the introduction of ranked matchmaking and previous adjustments to Doorman and McGinnis.
