Developer Creative Assembly has showcased a full battle for Total War: Warhammer 40,000, confirming that the upcoming strategy game features the largest unit ever built for the entire series. During a livestream breaking down mechanics like unit cards, shooting, suppression, flanking, and equipment, battle product owner David Petry introduced the towering Ork Stompa.

Inside the Ork Stompa Details
Described as a crude walking and shooting battle fortress, the Stompa packs a crew of several Orks alongside dozens of Grot riggers, runners, and assistants. It carries two or three enormous guns and a gigantic melee claw. Petry noted that the studio wanted to push scale as far as possible for the game.
“We really wanted to put the biggest thing that we could get away with in a Total War game,” Petry said during the stream. “We are looking at putting bigger things in later down the line, of course. But this will be the biggest thing we've had in a Total War. So, very excited about that.”
Battle Demonstration and Future Units
During the gameplay demonstration, an Astra Militarum army attempted to take down the Stompa using an orbital strike—an emergency attack players will not be able to deploy often. While the massive war machine survived the initial blast, the damage proved fatal, and the Stompa blew up shortly after.
Looking ahead, Petry stated that Creative Assembly is actively working on adding even larger units to Total War: Warhammer 40,000 in the future. Total War: Warhammer 40,000 does not yet have a confirmed release date for PC, but news continues to emerge, including recent confirmations of named characters such as Ork Warboss Nazdreg Ug Urdgrub.
