The headline star of the paid expansion is Nagash, the necromancer supreme whose campaign revolves around collecting magic books and gathering Mortarch lieutenants. Opposing him is the new Skaven legendary lord Thanquol, who rides a rat ogre and utilizes masterplans like heists and evil rituals to sabotage opponents.
The Empire faction receives a new elector count in Boris Todbringer, who brings the wolfgod Ulric's fervor to bear against enemies, allowing players to build wolf temples, enhance sanctuaries, and perform winter rites with his sword, Legbiter. Meanwhile, the Chaos god Nurgle gains the Glottkin—the Befouled Brothers—who specialize in spreading corruption, turning settlements into plague gardens, and fielding a higher proportion of Daemonic Nurgle units than any other Warriors of Chaos faction.
Free Vampiric Update and Reworks
Releasing alongside the DLC on September 24, 2026, the gargantuan free update adds the Vampire Queen Neferata to Total War: Warhammer 3.
