Gameplay and Setting

In Tormentum II, players control David, an architect of a simulation populated by beings that mimic human behavior. After installing a rare coprocessor acquired from a mysterious seller, David finds himself trapped within his own creation—a prison located on a remote island. The narrative explores themes of morality and features multiple possible endings based on player choices.

The visual style of the game is heavily influenced by the works of H. R. Giger and Zdzisław Beksiński. The developers have produced nearly 500 images, including 200 distinct hand-drawn scenes, marking a significant increase in scope compared to the original title.

Steam Deck and Technical Performance

The developer has confirmed that the game will offer native support for the Steam Deck. A free demo is currently live on Steam for users who wish to test the game before the official release. While the studio has indicated compatibility, specific technical data regarding frame rates and battery performance on the handheld remains unconfirmed.

Development for Tormentum II has spanned approximately eight years, with Piotr Ruszkowski and Łukasz Rutkowski leading the core team. While the game shares the atmospheric tone and puzzle-centric design of its predecessor, it is designed as a standalone story that does not require prior knowledge of Tormentum: Dark Sorrow.

Following the initial launch, OhNoo Studio plans to add support for Spanish and Turkish, though release dates for these language updates have not yet been established.
