TennoCon 2026 has concluded, and developer Digital Extremes has pulled back the curtain on the future of its two primary titles. The event provided long-form reveals for both Warframe and Soulframe, confirming major content additions and narrative shifts for both action RPGs.

Warframe: Entering the Tau System

The headline announcement for Warframe is the upcoming Tau expansion. Creative director Rebecca Ford described the addition as the game's biggest shift to date, introducing a second solar system for players to explore. While not a traditional open-world, the expansion includes Forax, a new cyberpunk-style hub zone that mixes open exploration with procedurally generated areas.

New Content and Features

  • Brysko: A new Chimera Warframe voiced by Matt Mercer. The character is a sentient being from the Tau system and features fast-paced, gunslinger-style combat.
  • Iceblade of Narin: A forthcoming story quest that introduces a new playable Warframe and location.
  • Portau: The game's first card mini-game, based on poker mechanics and themed around Blooms, Cores, Moons, and Suns.
  • Additional Updates: Players can look forward to a customizable Orokin Vessel, new deluxe skins for Qorvex and Banshee, and the Amir's Shockwave update for Nightwave missions.

Soulframe: Fables and Dark Powers

Soulframe, currently in its alpha stage, is expanding its high-fantasy narrative with the upcoming Warsongs fable questline. This update explores the player character's origins and the motivations of antagonist Tempest Bayor, who is voiced by Ben Starr. Jennifer English also joins the cast as the Empress of Eldveil.

Key Soulframe Additions

  • Vadagar Pact: A new dark power system that allows players to embrace corruption. This is accompanied by the Coiled Dawn, a snake sword designed for sweeping multi-enemy strikes.
  • Mounts and Fishing: Players will gain the ability to ride large wolves, and a new 'Vegan Fishing' mini-game will be added to the Alca to help players gather wildlife intel.
  • Mendicant Reinbreaker: A new combat encounter featuring a shadowy dark knight who may become an ally if defeated.
