System Shock and High on Life Head to PSVR2

PlayStation VR2 is receiving a wave of new content, highlighted by upcoming virtual reality adaptations of established sci-fi titles such as System Shock and High on Life. Following recent presentations including the VR Games Showcase, several new games, ports, and content drops have been confirmed for Sony's headset.

Upcoming Major VR Adaptations

Flat2VR Studios is leading the charge on bringing major flat-screen games into virtual reality for the platform. In collaboration with Nightdive Studios, System Shock VR allows players to explore Citadel Station and fight back against SHODAN from an immersive first-person perspective. Similarly, High on Life VR brings Squanch Games' ludicrous sci-fi shooter into the headset, with behind-the-scenes footage detailing the transition of its gameplay mechanics to virtual reality.

While neither adaptation has an official launch date yet, store page listings are live for wishlisting on the PlayStation Store.

New Releases and Launch Dates

Players looking for immediate additions to their library have two new titles ready to play today. Omega Pilot Evolution offers anti-gravity racing playable either on a standard TV or via PSVR2, while Bootstrap Island drops players onto a tropical survival roguelike where managing food, water, and environmental threats is essential.

Co-op fans have a specific date to mark on the calendar as well. Drop Dead: The Cabin brings its four-player zombie defense gameplay to PSVR2 on August 27, 2026, following previous releases on Meta Quest and SteamVR. Meanwhile, first-person robot racing game Vertigo Rush is currently in early access ahead of its full single-player and multiplayer launch in Winter 2026.

New Content for Existing Games

Rhythm game fans are also getting fresh additions. Trombone Champ Unflattened which landed on the platform in 2024, is expanding on August 20, 2026, with a Disney DLC pack. The add-on includes six tracks: "A Whole New World" from Aladdin"Under the Sea" and "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid"You've Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story"Be Our Guest" from Beauty and the Beast and "Circle of Life" from The Lion King.
