Codebrew Software has announced that Sublight, a space-themed bullet heaven roguelike, will officially launch into Steam Early Access on September 15, 2026. The release will support both Linux and Windows platforms, with the developer also confirming support for the Steam Deck at launch.
Quick Facts
- Release Date: September 15, 2026
- Platforms: PC (Linux and Windows)
- Launch Content: Six levels, several bosses, nine ships, and over 16 weapon types.
- Development Milestone: The game's demo has recorded over 14.3 million kills since its last major update.
In Sublight, players command a warship through hostile space, managing turret placement and firing arcs while navigating waves of enemies. The core gameplay loop focuses on ship configuration, where hull choices and weapon loadouts dictate the progression of each run. Players can further customize their ships using salvage earned from defeating enemies to unlock upgrades.
Following the initial Early Access release, Codebrew Software intends to implement weekly level modifiers to vary the gameplay experience. A full roadmap detailing post-launch content, including at least two additional enemy factions, is expected to be shared by the development team prior to the September 15 launch.
