PC players looking for a more immersive experience in Starfield can now bypass the game's traditional takeoff loading screens. A new mod, titled “Seamless Planet Takeoffs SFSE (Beta),” has been released by user 0xBobby, allowing ships to transition from the planet's surface directly into orbit without a camera cut.

How the Seamless Takeoff Mod Works

The mod functions by spawning the player's ship in orbit immediately after the takeoff sequence begins, effectively masking the transition. According to the modder, the visual smoothness of this process can vary depending on the planet's weather and atmospheric conditions. Because the project is currently in a beta state, users should anticipate potential bugs during the transition.

This release addresses a common point of feedback regarding the exploration mechanics in Starfield, which typically uses loading screens when players depart from a landing site. While the mod brings the game closer to the experience found in space sims like No Man’s Sky, the developer has clarified that adding seamless landings is not on the roadmap. 0xBobby noted that while tricks exist to hide loading screens during planetary entry, they do not meet the standard of a fully seamless experience he aims to provide.

Bethesda's Ongoing Plans for Starfield

While the modding community continues to refine the technical aspects of Starfield on PC, Bethesda has confirmed that it remains committed to the title's future. The studio has promised new story content scheduled for release in 2027. Additionally, Bethesda continues to support the game through the release of paid “Creation Club” content for both PC and console players.
