Developer Bit Reactor has confirmed that Star Wars Zero Company will feature a strictly linear narrative from beginning to end, dropping branching paths and romance systems in favor of a focused, cinematic turn-based tactics experience on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X.
During a recent Discord Q&A hosted by the studio, developers addressed key questions regarding narrative freedom in the upcoming 2026 strategy game. When asked about player choice, the studio was direct. "There aren't any romance systems or branching paths," Bit Reactor stated.

While the overall story concludes the same way for every player, squad composition still carries some weight. The developer noted that there will be "story moments that can alter based on who you have in your squad."
Bit Reactor emphasized that narrative choices take a backseat to core tactical gameplay. "While we are excited about pushing the genre forward with a more cinematic approach, this is still a turn-based tactics game at its heart where adept skill and strategy are needed to overcome tense combat challenges," the studio explained.
Built by a team of XCOM veterans, Star Wars Zero Company leans into its genre roots by keeping the campaign largely on rails, ensuring tactical mastery remains the primary focus when it arrives for PC and current-gen consoles.
