PC horror game Shift At Midnight has received a fresh update targeting several persistent technical roadblocks and lobby stability issues. Developed by Bun Muen, the online co-op detective game recently introduced 6-player lobby support—despite being originally designed and marketed for up to 3 players—which prompted a round of rapid hotfixes and quality-of-life adjustments.

The July 24 patch delivers several major bug fixes designed to smooth out multiplayer sessions and prevent progression-halting errors. According to the official changelog, object physics in good ping lobbies are no longer laggy, and players who suffer a crash will no longer find themselves trapped in the main menu upon attempting to rejoin.

Major Bug Fixes and Balancing Changes

For players tackling the game's cooperative detective work, the update resolves a frustrating soft-lock issue that occurred while conversing with customers. It also clears up a progression stopper that previously left players frozen on a black screen when entering shift 10.

On the enemy side, an issue where monsters became stuck on indestructible barricades has been resolved. Additionally, the developer adjusted and balanced the health values of specific monsters to better fit encounters.

Players looking to test the newly expanded lobby size will also benefit from a fix that allows 6 players to properly queue up and play Endless Mode. Bun Muen encourages players encountering any remaining bugs to report them directly via the official Shift At Midnight Discord server.
