SCS Software is detailing the mechanics of its upcoming Coaches DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2, highlighting several vehicle-specific systems designed to distinguish the coach driving experience from the base game's traditional trucking. As development progresses for the PC title, the studio has confirmed that these additions are intended to increase immersion for players managing passenger transport.

New Vehicle Systems and Accessories

The update introduces a destination display panel located at the top of the windshield. This accessory is fully functional, showing the coach's final stop, and can be removed or kept based on player preference. It is visible from both the interior and exterior of the vehicle, with the developers fine-tuning colors and text length to ensure compatibility across different regional destinations.

To manage visibility in the larger windshields typical of coaches, the expansion adds adjustable sun visors. These are split into independent left and right sections, allowing players to position each side separately. These visors include animated controls and corresponding sound effects to enhance the tactile feel of the cabin.

Technology and Interior Lighting

Because coaches are significantly longer than standard trucks, maneuvering in tight bus stations presents a unique challenge. To assist with this, the DLC includes a rear-view camera system. When a player engages reverse gear, the navigation display on the dashboard will automatically switch to the camera feed, providing a clearer view of the area behind the vehicle.

Interior customization has also been expanded with two distinct lighting options:

  • Ambient Lighting: Players can select specific colors to match their interior aesthetic.
  • Main Ceiling Light: A toggleable light source designed to assist with passenger boarding and drop-offs during nighttime routes.

SCS Software encourages players interested in these upcoming features to add the Coaches DLC to their Steam wishlist to receive updates as development continues. While the expansion focuses on these specialized vehicle functions, it remains a core addition to the existing Euro Truck Simulator 2 environment on PC.
