GSC Game World is rolling out the 2.0 update for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, launching alongside the new paid expansion, Cost of Hope. Both the update and the DLC will be available simultaneously across all platforms.
New Content and Story Details
The Cost of Hope expansion introduces a new narrative arc that centers on the D4 Treaty, which attempts to bridge the gap between two previously rival factions. This peace is short-lived, serving as the catalyst for a new conflict within the Zone.
Players can access this new story content in one of two ways: by integrating it into their ongoing main campaign playthrough or by launching the DLC as a standalone experience directly from the game menu. The expansion also adds new explorable regions, including the Iron Forest and the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, alongside additional quests.
Update Availability
While Cost of Hope is a paid expansion, all features bundled into the 2.0 update will be available to all players regardless of whether they own the DLC. These system-wide updates will be accessible from the start of the game, applying to both the original campaign and the new expansion content.
