A new August patch for Runners on PC introduces major quality-of-life additions alongside bug fixes, headlined by a brand-new cooperative quest, expanded pathmaking tools, and deep statistical tracking.

Quick Facts

  • New Quest: Team up to find telemetry stands and retrieve weather data for APEX in the "Field Survey" mission.
  • Crowbar Utility: Players can now smash down wood fences to create faster paths across the map.
  • Helmet Lights: Added to player models so teammates can spot each other from afar; lights automatically turn red upon player death.
  • Stat Tracking: Comprehensive data tracking is now viewable from the Locker, covering game time, victories, losses, fastest wins, and environmental deaths like tornadoes, fire, acid, and hail.
  • Uniform Buff: The First Ember Uniform now includes the "Strength" effect, preventing heavy items from slowing you down.

Gameplay Adjustments and Fixes

Beyond new features, the update refines several existing mechanics. The Death Screen now displays your exact cause of death, and tokens spent tracking has been updated to count only tokens spent individually rather than pooled across the entire crew. Information Retrieval quests now require only one type of item per match instead of multiple types, and the Company Vault UI layout has been overhauled for better navigation.

Developers also addressed numerous bug fixes, resolving issues where tornadoes failed to deal damage to players trapped in sewage pits, van parts became uninteractable after a shock or kill during a repair minigame, and the "Electrified" achievement incorrectly triggered from electric cable traps instead of lightning.

Known Issues Under Investigation

The team is currently tracking several known issues for future fixes, including:

  • Players occasionally unable to see or interact with crowbars, darts, and certain consumables.
  • Server connection and invitation difficulties.
  • Menu performance drops when highlighting items or running Alt + Tab.
  • Vending machine items sometimes appearing invisible or unusable.
  • Skins failing to display for clients under specific circumstances.

Players do not need to manually change or claim anything outside of downloading the latest update through Steam.
