Magnum Scriptum has officially transitioned Quasimorph out of early access, marking the move to its full 1.0 release on PC. The launch concludes a three-year development cycle and introduces a suite of new tools and narrative content for the turn-based cyberpunk RPG.

New Features in Version 1.0

The 1.0 update focuses on expanding player customization and mechanical depth. Key additions include:

  • Custom Content Tools: A built-in map editor allows players to create custom map packs, supported by a new in-game mod manager.
  • Narrative Expansions: New faction storylines have been integrated to flesh out the game's interstellar setting.
  • Technical Overhauls: Fire and liquid mechanics have been significantly reworked, and tutorial systems have been expanded to better explain the game's high-stakes extraction loops.
  • Progression: The update adds Steam achievements to track player milestones.

Gameplay Context

In Quasimorph, players act as commanders of the HIS Magnum, executing contracts for various factions like RealWare and Daydream Chems. The core gameplay remains a blend of tactical turn-based combat and roguelike extraction. Success yields gear and reputation, while failure results in the permanent loss of the mercenary’s equipment.

Survival is tied to the quasimorphosis meter, which increases through combat or the consumption of cannibalized resources. Managing this meter is critical, as allowing it to rise triggers 'rapture' events that summon powerful demonic entities from parallel realities.
