Straight4 Studios and Giants Software have released Update 2.1 for Project Motor Racing, bringing a substantial physics overhaul and a new free content pack to all platforms. This update follows a push by the development team to refine the simulation's foundation and improve the overall user experience.
Key Changes in Update 2.1
The centerpiece of the update is a complete rebuild of the handling models for the GT3 and GT4 categories. This development was led by the studio’s new CCO, Aristotelis Vasilakos, who previously served as a handling lead at Kunos Simulazioni for Assetto Corsa. Beyond the physics, the update introduces the following enhancements:
- Aussie Rivals Pack: A free DLC addition featuring the 2013 Holden VF Commodore and a reworked 2013 Ford Falcon FG.
- PC Features: Implementation of Alpha triple-screen support.
- Hardware Integration: Logitech Trueforce feedback support is now enabled across all platforms.
- Visuals and Physics: Various graphical enrichments and improved collision modeling.
Improved Online Flow
Players participating in online racing will see significant changes to lobby and registration management. You can now join supported online sessions after they have already started, eliminating the need to wait for a full lobby restart. Additionally, the ranked session registration process has been streamlined; players are no longer required to remain on the registration screen while waiting for a session to go live. Once registered, you can navigate elsewhere in the game and will receive a notification to join directly when the race is ready.
