Following a massive launch, Palworld has officially hit version 1.0. The monster-hunting survival game, developed by Pocketpair, achieved significant results with the update, drawing in over 885,000 concurrent players on Steam.

Expanding the Palworld Universe

With the game now at 1.0, the development team is looking toward the future of the property. John 'Bucky' Buckley, head of publishing and communications at Pocketpair, confirmed that the studio is working on several projects to expand the franchise.

"We've got some spin-offs we're experimenting with, and hopefully we'll be able to figure out how to keep expanding the Palworld universe," Buckley told Game8. While the team remains coy about specific long-term plans, he noted that there are "a few other little secret things in development" as the IP continues to grow.

More Than Just Pals

The first confirmed project beyond the core survival game is More Than Just Pals. This romantic social adventure puts you in the shoes of a new transfer student at Private Palpagos Academy. According to early details, the game will feature a unique tone, including the option to eat fellow students.

While Pocketpair has not announced what other side games might look like, Buckley acknowledged that the team is thinking carefully about their next moves. Even as the studio experiments with new genres, recent updates to the main game have included redesigns for multiple Pals, shifting their appearances to be more distinct.
