Neverway, the pixel art horror life sim and RPG from developer Coldblood Inc., has been pushed to a 2027 release window. While the indie title never held an exact calendar release date prior to the announcement, the team behind the game shared word of the schedule shift in a Steam blog post.

Quick Facts

  • Game Name: Neverway
  • Developer: Coldblood Inc.
  • Platform: PC (via Steam), Mac, and Nintendo Switch
  • Revised Release Window: 2027
  • Current Access: A playable demo is available on Steam alongside wishlisting options.

Why Coldblood Inc. Pushed Neverway to 2027

According to Coldblood Inc., the delay stems from positive community reception to the game's prologue and subsequent internal playtests. Seeing how players connected with early slices of the experience inspired the three-person core development team—joined by a few collaborators—to expand certain chapters and areas beyond their original scope.

"Seeing how the prologue resonated with so many of you, along with internal playtests, inspired us on how the later parts of Neverway could take shape," the developers stated in the official update. "This means some of the original chapters and areas grew in a way we hope will meet your expectations. We believe in this game's potential, which is why we decided to take this extra time to make it the very best version it can be."

NPC Routines, Romances, and Multiple Endings

To tide players over during the wait, the studio offered a look at the game's intricate character systems. Neverway features 20 distinct characters who follow more than 250 separate daily routines. Out of those 20 characters, players can choose to romance 12 of them individually.

These relationship bonds feed directly into the game's multiple endings. Coldblood Inc. noted that player bonds "may be directly tied to the ending of the game," with narrative conclusions designed to feel interesting in different ways rather than relying on standard "good" or "evil" metrics.

While the full game will not arrive until 2027, PC players can still download and try the available demo on Steam or wishlist the title to track future updates.
