Motion Twin has responded to director Guillermo del Toro after he shared his love for Dead Cells but requested a more forgiving checkpoint system.

During a July 29 interview with IGN, del Toro discussed his experience with the hardcore action-roguelike. While praising the title, he lamented its high difficulty level and expressed a desire for a version that eases up on traditional roguelike restarts.

In response, developer Motion Twin spoke to IGN regarding the director's comments. The studio acknowledged del Toro playing the game and gently suggested that he try the easy mode already built into Dead Cells.

The exchange highlights how players across different creative fields continue to engage with the notoriously challenging title on PC and other platforms.
