Navigating cosmetics in League of Legends can be overwhelming if you are a returning player or new to the PC MOBA. Riot Games has expanded far beyond the classic Standard and Legendary categories to include tiers like Transcendent, Exalted, and Mythic Variants. This guide covers the current skin sales, the active Your Shop dates, and a complete breakdown of all LoL skin tiers.

3. Understand All League of Legends Skin Tiers

Cosmetics range from basic model updates to hyper-exclusive luxury items. Here is the complete list of League of Legends skin tiers, ordered from most expensive to least:

  • Transcendent — Available via the Hall of Legends store for between $50 and $500 depending on the bundle. Features all Ultimate-tier traits, unique gameplay elements, and ties to external in-game and IRL events. Examples: Immortalized Legend Ahri, Immortalized Legend Kai'Sa.
  • Exalted — Available via Sanctum for 80 Ancient Sparks for a guaranteed skin (400RP / $3.08 per Spark). Positioned as hyper-exclusive luxury items with multiple forms and unique animations. Examples: Arcane Fractured Jinx, Revenant Reign Viego.
  • Mythic Variant — Available via Sanctum for 40 Ancient Sparks for a guaranteed skin (400RP / $3.08 per Spark). Features new voicelines, recalls, animations, and model changes applied to previously existing skins. Examples: Peacemaker High Noon Yone, Divine Architect Porcelain Aurelion Sol.
  • Ultimate — Available in the store, Hextech Chests, and via Loot Drops for 3,250RP (approx. $25). Offers a complete re-imagining of the character with new mechanics, such as evolving skins that change form. Examples: DJ Sona, Elementalist Lux.
  • Mythic — Available in the Mythic Store using 100 Mythic Essence (earnable currency). Features enhanced animations. Examples: Sunken Shadows Nami, Hextech Poppy.
  • Prestige — Available in the Mythic Store or via paid battle pass completion for 150 Mythic Essence or 1,650 RP (approx. $12.96). Features gold and white variations of existing skins with unique borders, VFX, and splash art. Examples: Prestige K/DA Akali, Prestige True Damage Senna.
  • Legendary — Available in the store, Hextech Chests, and via Loot Drops for 1,820RP (approx. $14). Provides a complete character re-imagining with new animations, visuals, sounds, and voice lines. Examples: Primordian Aatrox, Spirit Blossom Ahri.
  • Epic — Available in the store, Hextech Chests, and via Loot Drops for 1,350RP (approx. $10). Includes new models, animations, visuals, sounds, and some new voice lines. Examples: Firecracker Ashe, Dark Star Karma.
  • Standard — Effectively retired by Riot Games, priced at 975RP (approx. $7.50). Features simple model changes and some unique animations. Examples: Moo Cow Alistar, Definitely Not Blitzcrank.
  • Budget — Effectively retired by Riot Games, priced at 750RP (approx. $5.77). Features simple model changes. Examples: Little Knight Amumu, Sweetheart Annie.

Note that exceptions apply: older Ultimate skins like Gun Goddess Miss Fortune are priced lower, and event-only skins like Pax Sivir, Pax Jax, and Pax Twisted Fate are permanently inaccessible. Original launch and beta skins—including Black Alistar, Silver Kayle, Young Ryze, and King Rammus—cannot be obtained through any current means. Riot no longer produces Standard or Budget tier skins, making Epic skins the lowest level of newly purchasable cosmetics.
