The 1.0 update for Palworld has introduced a wealth of new content, including fresh zones, weapons, and Pals. However, the update also brings new resource requirements to the tech tree. If you are climbing toward the level 40 to 50 range, you have likely run into the need for hardwood. Unlike standard planks, this tier of building material requires you to travel to specific regions.

Hardwood Farming Locations

To gather hardwood efficiently, you should focus your efforts on two specific areas:

  • Twilight Dunes: Look for the twisting trees with spiky leaves.
  • Dancing Sakura Shrine (Sakurajima): Look for any Sakura trees that feature red or white trunks.

How to Reach the Farming Zones

For the fastest access, unlock these specific fast travel locations:

  • Anubis Dunes: Located northeast of the Anubis statue and boss arena.
  • Moonflower Tower Entrance: Located northwest of the Sakurajima Watchtower statue.

You do not need any specialized equipment to begin farming. A standard Metal Axe works perfectly on the trees in both locations. Once you arrive, I recommend gathering a large stack of hardwood to keep in your inventory. If you plan on doing a significant amount of crafting, consider setting up a nearby base to save yourself the repeated travel time.

Crafting with Hardwood

Hardwood becomes a vital resource once you hit level 43. At this point in the tech tree, you unlock the High Quality Wooden Board. Each board requires 10 units of hardwood to craft, making a reliable supply chain essential for your late-game builds.
