Finding Blackbeard’s Treasure in Black Flag Resynced is significantly more challenging than other treasure hunts in the game. Because the map lacks specific coordinates, you have to rely on your knowledge of the Caribbean to track it down. This quest becomes available only after you complete the Do Not Go Gently main quest, at which point you will discover the map hidden inside Blackbeard’s hat.
Step 1: Locating Anotto Bay
The map leads to Anotto Bay, located in the Charlotte region at coordinates 590,245. You can find this spot just to the north of Kingston. Be prepared for a fight upon arrival; you will encounter several pirate ships laying claim to the treasure, and you must sink them before you can safely land the Jackdaw.
Step 2: Navigating the Sunken Mineshaft
Once you have landed, head to the left and hop across the boats until you reach the water. Dive down to locate the entrance to the sunken mineshaft. You will need to navigate through these underwater tunnels while avoiding hazards like sharks and sea anemones. Continue forward until you emerge into a cavernous area featuring wooden platforms and gunpowder barrels, guarded by a group of enemies.
Step 3: Blowing Up the Rubble
To progress, pick up one of the gunpowder kegs. When holding the barrel, you can press LT on your controller to highlight destructible rubble in green. Carry a keg over to the far side of the room to destroy the first pile of rubble blocking your path.
After clearing the debris, continue through the cave to face Blackbeard’s former sailing master. Once the combat encounter is finished, look for another gunpowder barrel. Carry it up the path located to the right of the waterfall to reach a second pile of rubble. Destroying this final wall reveals the treasure.
Completing the Quest
After collecting the treasure, you are not quite done yet. You must travel back to Great Inagua to officially complete the quest.
