Cygames has officially released Endless Ragnarok, a major expansion for Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Whether you are a newcomer to the action-JRPG or a veteran looking to push your builds past previous limits, this update brings a significant injection of content to the title.
The core of the expansion is a fresh, main-line story adventure. While the base game offers dozens of hours of content, Endless Ragnarok adds new quest tiers, bosses, and a progression system known as 'master traits' to elevate your power ceiling. Notably, the expansion's new main questline supports full co-op play, a departure from the structure of the original campaign.
New Combat Mechanics and Progression
Combat receives a substantial shake-up with the introduction of a summons system. Players can now call in key NPCs and powerful beasts to assist during encounters. Some summons grant you temporary control over the entity, while others act as support units—such as villagers or friendly cats—that provide buffs and tactical assists from the sidelines.
To help players prepare for these challenges, Cygames has introduced 'The Conflux,' a new roguelite-inspired mode. This mode is designed to streamline the farming of materials that were previously difficult to acquire, allowing players to bypass the more tedious endgame grinds if they prefer to focus on the new narrative content.
Expanded Roster and Crossplay
The update brings six new characters into the fold, including familiar faces from the game's story that fans have been eager to play. These additions, alongside the existing roster, ensure that playstyles remain varied—from the heavy-hitting tank play of Ghandagoza to the long-range precision of Eugen or the aerial mobility of Zeta.
Accompanying the expansion is an update that adds crossplay support to the game’s online multiplayer missions. This allows players to tackle high-rank, Monster Hunter-style quests together regardless of their chosen platform.
Pricing and Availability
Granblue Fantasy: Relink - Endless Ragnarok is available now. The upgrade kit is priced at $29.99 / £24.99, while a bundle containing both the base game and the expansion is available for $59.99 / £49.99. For those who want to test the new systems before committing, a demo of the expansion is currently available for download.
While the new story content requires players to have completed the majority of the base game’s post-game, high-rank missions, the addition of The Conflux ensures that catching up is a more accessible process than it was previously. With new trophies, sigils, and stickers to collect, the update serves as a substantial addition for those already invested in the PC and console versions of the game.
