GameSir has released a significant update to its Connect software, addressing long-standing frustrations regarding how players manage their PC controller settings. The update to version 1.14.4 replaces the previous process of manually uninstalling and reinstalling the app via the Windows Store with a streamlined, in-app update system.
New Features and Usability Improvements
For users who find technical controller jargon intimidating, the latest version of GameSir Connect introduces a helpful information feature. By hovering a cursor over the information icon located next to specific headers—such as deadzones, polling rates, or hair trigger modes—users can now view brief, plain-language explanations of what those settings actually change. This addition is designed to lower the barrier to entry for players who previously avoided using companion software for their gamepads.
Additionally, the update provides more granular control for power users. The Connect app now allows for thumbstick deadzone curve modifications using 100x100 coordinates, offering greater precision when calibrating inputs.
Firmware and Compatibility
The update coincides with a new firmware release for the GameSir G7 Pro 8K PC, which brings latency improvements to less than 250 milliseconds.
While Connect serves as the primary hub for the G7 Pro 8K PC, the Tarantula Pro, Cyclone 2, Super Nova, Tegenaria Lite, and Nova 2 Lite, it is worth noting that device support remains split. Older GameSir hardware, such as the original G7 Pro for Xbox and PC, will continue to utilize the legacy GameSir Nexus application. Future hardware, including the upcoming GameSir Tarantula Pro 8K PC, is expected to utilize the Connect app upon release.
