G2 Esports has won the Call of Duty: Warzone Resurgence Series Championship at the Esports World Cup 2026. The team secured the victory following an 11-match grand final that featured five teams ending on match point and a decisive final game.

Quick Facts

  • Tournament: Call of Duty: Warzone Resurgence Series Championship at the Esports World Cup 2026
  • Winner: G2 Esports (Anthony “Anziety” Moran, Ashton “Bigman” Ezard, and Aarondeep “Cythe” Dhami)
  • Grand Final: 11 matches, featuring a 26-kill performance in Game 11
  • Prizes: $250,000 top prize and 1,000 Club Championship points for G2 Esports; $25,000 SONY MVP award for Anthony “Anziety” Moran

Path to the Championship

The winning G2 Esports roster has competed together for years, bypassing the frequent roster changes common in the Call of Duty: Warzone scene. Following a 17th-place finish at the previous year's Esports World Cup, the team signed with G2 Esports this past February. After consistent performances through the year, they secured second place in Group B during the group stage with 235.2 points to advance to the Grand Final.

During the final, G2 placed in the top three across each of the first four maps. After facing increased pressure from opposing teams midway through the final day, they reached match point by Game 10. They secured the trophy in Game 11 with a 26-kill performance, placing outside of the top five only twice across all 11 maps while recording a tournament-high 150 total kills.

Tournament Standings and Club Championship Impact

With the win, G2 Esports earns $250,000 and 1,000 Club Championship points. However, because the club did not place in the top eight for both VALORANT and League of Legends, G2 requires another top-eight finish in either Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 or Counter-Strike 2 to qualify for the overall Club Championship. Meanwhile, current Club Championship leaders Team Falcons finished the final in last place, missing out on Club Championship points.
