PC players looking to lean further into Kingdom Hearts nostalgia while playing Duskfade can now install community-made mods that swap the indie action platformer's protagonist for Sora and trade out his weapon for an actual Keyblade.
Modder Dallin1016 released a character overhaul on NexusMods that dresses the game's main character, Zirian, in Sora's iconic red outfit from the first Kingdom Hearts game. The package includes an optional hair swap to give Zirian Sora's spiky hairstyle. A complementary mod further completes the crossover by replacing Zirian's legally distinct sword with a proper Keyblade.
While the developers of Duskfade built the 2026 PC indie release as a clear homage to classic PlayStation 2 action platformers—complete with achievements nodding to the source material and shadowy, enemy archetypes—these new community mods turn the resemblance into a direct visual crossover. The same modder has also created work-in-progress maps for the game, including an explorable recreation of Wuhu Island from Wii Sports Resort.
Duskfade currently holds an 89% 'Very Positive' user score on Steam. Players interested in trying out the Sora and Keyblade visual overhauls can download them directly through the game's NexusMods community hub on PC.
