Developer Drop Fake, in partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, has officially announced DCKO, a new free-to-play fighting game designed for mobile devices. The title is scheduled for a 2027 launch on both iOS and Android platforms.

Quick Facts

  • Platforms: iOS and Android
  • Release Window: 2027
  • Business Model: Free-to-play
  • Pre-registration: Available now via the official DCKO website

Core Gameplay and Mechanics

DCKO is built around real-time player-versus-player (PvP) combat. Players select a team of Super Heroes and Super-Villains from the DC universe to compete on leaderboards. The combat system relies on a combination of taps and swipes, with players chaining light and heavy hits to create combos. Additional tactical elements include:

  • Meter Management: Building a meter during fights allows players to unleash "Epic Supers."
  • Defensive Play: Players can break through opponent blocks using a grab-and-toss mechanic, which can be countered with a well-timed "Tech."
  • Tag-Team System: Matches feature a benched Legend who can be called in for assisted attacks, devastating sequences, and joint "Tag Team Super Moves."

Modes and Roster

Beyond the primary PvP modes, the game will include player-versus-environment (PvE) content, such as exclusive story modes and a challenge mode titled "the Rift." The developer intends to support the game with regular updates, including new maps, rewards, and stories.

The launch roster includes 19 characters, with plans to introduce one new "Legend" every month. Confirmed fighters include Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Lex Luthor, Doomsday, Constantine, and Blue Beetle, among others. Pre-registration for the game is currently open on the official website for users looking to secure their access ahead of the 2027 release.
