Plan Dirty Games has released a new update for the newly launched simulation game Dirty Business, outlining specific operational rules for workers and staff mechanics across underground base building operations.

According to the developer announcement on Steam, the core rule for hiring and managing staff in the crime simulator is straightforward: workers attempt to use all available tools and equipment to produce products as quickly as possible. To function correctly, players must leave empty and clean equipment available for them.

Required Equipment per Worker Type

Different staff roles require specific clean equipment setups to prevent production halts:

  • Botanists: Require empty pots, empty bud baskets, and lights turned on.
  • Gunsmiths: Require empty printers and empty workbenches.
  • Chemists: Require an empty extract distiller and an empty extract dropper.
  • Counterfeiters: Require an empty printer, empty guillotine cutter, and empty drying machine.

The developer highlighted that manual interference can disrupt automated labor. For instance, leaving bud baskets full or picking even a single bud from a plant designated for a botanist signals to the worker that the player intends to handle the task personally, causing the staff member to stop working.

Additionally, the game's staffing hub displays indicators explaining why specific workers are currently idle, such as a lack of available pots or printers. Plan Dirty Games stated that they are continuing to work on improvements to the worker system to resolve remaining issues.

Dirty Business launched on July 22, 2026, offering solo and up to 4-player co-op gameplay focused on building a criminal empire from a hidden underground hangar.
