Blizzard has released a new patch for Diablo 4, targeting the accessibility of Mythic items in Season 14. This update serves as the latest adjustment in an ongoing effort to address player frustration regarding low drop rates and restrictive crafting rules that have persisted since the Season of Death Awakening began in late June.
Updated Mythic Drop Rates
The most significant changes focus on the Undercity, specifically the Mythic Tribute of Armaments. Players running Torment X now have a “greatly increased” chance to find Mythics, while those playing at the Torment XII difficulty level will find that Mythics are now guaranteed drops from the tribute.
Additionally, the development team has integrated Superior Lair Keys into the final Glints of Hope cache. This change is designed to streamline the farming process for players, making it easier to acquire Pandemonium Fragments and secure Mythics following major encounters.
Addressing Crafting Frustrations
These adjustments follow reports from players and streamers who struggled to find Unique Mythics despite extended play sessions. The game previously restricted players to carrying only one crafted Mythic, a limitation that Blizzard has been gradually dismantling to improve character building.
Upcoming Changes for Season 15
Blizzard has also outlined plans for the Horadric Cube in the upcoming Season 15. Senior community manager Marcus 'Marcoose' Kretz confirmed that the team intends to remove the current Mythic reroll crafting path. In its place, the studio will introduce a direct upgrade system that preserves the original unique item, rather than providing a random result of the same class.
While the team continues to refine these systems, the current patch is intended to alleviate the immediate difficulties players face when hunting for high-level gear in the underworld.
