Following the first 30v30 playtest for Conqueror's Blade on July 17, the development team has acknowledged significant technical hurdles, including server instability, latency, and control responsiveness. Developers confirmed they are addressing these issues directly for the upcoming July 24 official release rather than relying on the "beta" label to excuse performance gaps.
Quick Facts
- Playtest Date: July 17, 2026.
- Primary Issues: Gateway packet loss, server crashes, and UI bugs regarding mount summons.
- Movement Changes: New double-tap inputs for dodging and sprinting arrive July 24.
- Balance: A new damage decay mechanism has been implemented for skills hitting multiple targets.
Server and Control Fixes
The technical team identified the primary cause of the July 17 server crash as a null pointer error within the damage calculation system. According to the team, the system was attempting to process damage for targets that had already despawned. This has been reinforced for the second test. Additionally, engineers are working on gateway optimizations to address packet loss caused by high traffic volumes during large-scale engagements.
Players who reported unresponsive mount summons will see a corrected UI in the next iteration. A progress bar was intended to balance combat fluidity against "instant mounting" exploits, but a UI bug previously hid this bar, making the action feel unresponsive. The process is now clearly displayed, though taking damage will correctly interrupt the summon.
Movement and Performance Optimizations
Two major logic issues hampered character movement: incorrect dodge directions when using "Shift+S" and an unrecoverable sprint state when interrupted by the scoreboard or stamina depletion. The team has addressed the sprint transition logic and will introduce two new quality-of-life inputs on July 24:
- Double-tap a direction key to dodge.
- Double-tap the 'W' key to trigger a sprint.
Visual clutter and frame rate drops during 30v30 combat are also being mitigated. Developers have adjusted the minimap to reduce distracting elements, separated eagle-eye observation angles for attackers and defenders, and optimized tree and grass rendering strategies to improve performance in dense environments.
Combat Balance
To prevent certain hero skills from providing overwhelming returns in large-scale fights, the team has introduced a "damage decay" mechanism for skills that hit large numbers of units simultaneously. Minor stat adjustments were also applied to heroes including Lu Lingqi, Sun Jian, Sun Ce, Xiahou Yuan, and Hua Xiong, as well as units like the Shu Palace Guards and Armor-Piercing Guards.
The team continues to monitor server stability and control responsiveness during the July 18 test phase, encouraging players to report specific trigger scenarios for any remaining bugs.
