Weather Factory has released a playable demo for its upcoming CRPG Travelling At Night. The demo, which launched on August 12, 2026, allows players to experience the game’s introduction chapter and explore the fictional setting of Antibes.
Quick Facts
- Developer: Weather Factory
- Platform: PC (via Steam)
- Content: Includes the introduction chapter, character background and skill selection, and early NPC interactions.
Gameplay and Setting
Set in a fictional Europe following World War II, the game depicts a cold war between the "Incorporates of the USA" and the "star-touched Ministries of the USSR." Players take on the role of a character who was previously "hollowed out" by eldritch parasitic creatures known as Worms.
The game focuses on choices rather than traditional combat. Players build their characters using sixteen distinct skills—such as Dignity, Spivvery, and Skolekosophy—to navigate the post-war world. Progression involves finding Memories and Signs through exploration and conversation, which are used to develop the character's skills and passions.
Player Consequences
The developer emphasizes that the game features no combat, focusing instead on narrative decision-making. Players will be tasked with building alliances or betraying factions like the Incorporates and Ministries. The final narrative will branch based on these choices, leading to multiple potential endings depending on the motives and actions taken throughout the playthrough.
