Quick Facts

  • Platform: PC (via Steam)
  • Year: 2026
  • Developers: Safe Flight Games, GameWorks Ventures
  • Core Premise: Manage a once-a-week salon for animal people while fulfilling a demon's quota

Beastfolk Barber is an upcoming narrative-driven simulation game for PC where players step into the role of Freddie, the manager of a unique salon that opens just one day a week. Developed by Safe Flight Games and GameWorks Ventures, the title draws immediate gameplay comparisons to narrative titles like Coffee Talk.

Freddie recently inherited a strange mirror from a deceased friend. This mirror magically previews how a haircut will look on a patron, but it comes with a strict limit: you can only preview a specific haircut three times per customer. Succeeding requires engaging in conversation with your clientele to understand their personalities, lives, and motivations before taking scissors to fur.

The Demon Pact and Customer Quotas

Running the salon isn't just about styling hair. Freddie has made a deal with a mysterious demon who is also a beastfolk. The demon tasks Freddie with acquiring 10 regular customers by a specific date. Accomplishing this proves your competence, and in return, the demon grants Freddie a single wish to undo a personal regret.

Players use microgames involving cutting and shaving to style hair, while tracking which combinations were used on each preview. Beyond the mechanics, the game incorporates worldbuilding into customer interactions. Your very first customer is a two-headed dragon where only one head is legally recognized as a person while the other legally counts as an organ. The pair visits the salon while practicing for a debate on a senator's bill aimed at changing the default human-centric legal age of adulthood for different species.

Availability and How to Play

Beastfolk Barber is currently confirmed for PC. While an official full launch date has not yet been announced, a playable demo is available, and players can add the game to their wishlists directly through Steam.
