Professional freerunner and Red Bull athlete Lilou Ruel has set a new world record for the highest haystack jump, successfully recreating the signature “Leap of Faith” from Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. Ruel performed an 18.2-meter jump—roughly the height of a six-story building—into a haystack. This feat surpasses the previous 18.1-meter record set in May 2026 by fellow Red Bull athlete Dominic Tommasso.

Sales Success and PC Performance

Since its release on July 9, 2026, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has seen significant commercial success. Ubisoft reported 2 million copies sold within the first 24 hours, reaching the 3 million mark just one week later. The title also generated $1 million from day-one DLC on Steam, contributing to the highest player peak for the franchise on the PC platform to date.

Internal Development Concerns

Despite the game's commercial performance, its release has been accompanied by controversy regarding Ubisoft's workforce. In June, the publisher announced plans to lay off 380 staff members. This reduction included 51 employees at Ubisoft’s Barcelona office who worked on the game’s diving sections. These former employees are currently campaigning for improved severance pay, characterizing their current offers as being below reasonable standards.
