The Outlands have officially been hacked. As of July 14, 2026, Apex Legends has launched its new Cyberpunk Event, transforming the E-District into a neon-soaked homage to Night City. Players can expect a complete aesthetic overhaul, complete with towering skyscrapers, holographic koi fish, and glitched-out signage.
New Cyberware Mechanics
The update introduces two distinct Cyberware mods that change how you navigate the map:
- Sandevistan: Wired for speed, this mod allows you to perform quick dashes in any direction. You can chain two dashes before touching the ground to close gaps or slip away from incoming fire.
- Blackwall Breach: This mod phases you into the Net for repositioning, releasing a disruptive EMP blast the moment you return to the physical world.
Players should be careful with their loadouts, however. Using Cyberware increases your Cyberware Capacity. If you push your meter to the limit, you will suffer from Cyberpsychosis. In this state, you lose all access to abilities, weapons, shields, and ordnance, though you gain increased movement speed and powerful melee capabilities. To manage this, you'll need to locate Immunoblocker Syringes or visit Immunoblocker Caches to reset your meter.
The Mythic Skippy Alternator
A standout addition to the event is the Mythic Skippy Alternator. Once acquired, you can toggle between 'Puppy Loving Pacifist' and 'Stone Cold Killer' modes. The weapon even features unique dialogue. You can further customize the weapon using Exotic Shards, which unlock new visuals, knock effects, and ordnance skins.
Rewards and Cosmetics
The event introduces a dedicated Reward Shop where players can spend earned 'Eddies' on various items. Highlights include:
- Legend Skins: New preem looks for Axle, Sparrow, Lifeline, Crypto, Rampart, Loba, Ash, and Gibraltar.
- Weapon Skins: Fresh iron for the Wingman, Charge Rifle, Mastiff, L-STAR, P2020, RE-45, R-301, and Kraber.
- Featured Items: The Arasaka Epic Valkyrie skin and the Kang-Tao Epic Mirage skin.
Respawn Entertainment has also recently reinforced their stance on fair play, reminding players that as of July 9, 2026, the use of "jitter aim" or RC filters to exploit aim assist is officially classified as cheating. The studio continues to ramp up enforcement, having issued nearly 6,000 hardware bans since the end of April.
