Corgee Inc. has announced that its upcoming side-scrolling action shooter, Angel Guardian, will be featured in Steam’s Cyberpunk Fest. Players can get their first look at the game with a public demo running from August 3 through August 10, 2026.
Quick Facts
- Platforms: Linux, Mac, and Windows (Full release)
- Demo Dates: August 3 – August 10, 2026
- Steam Store: Angel Guardian on Steam
- Linux Support: Demo runs via Proton; native support planned for full launch
Alterra: A Station Under Siege
Set on the vast space station and royal realm of Alterra, Angel Guardian tasks players with controlling Kita, an elite guard. Kita is on a mission to rescue Prince Eiji, who is trapped within the facility after hostile forces seized control. The gameplay blends fast-paced sword combat with gunplay, allowing players to utilize multiple rifles and various upgrades to navigate the environment.
Movement is a core component of the action, with dashing and dodging required to survive intense encounters. However, the game also emphasizes stealth. Players can hack security gear to disable traps, avoid enemy patrols, or discover hidden paths to bypass dangerous areas of the station. The role of Prince Eiji also evolves throughout the game; while he begins as a liability Kita must protect, he eventually gains powers that make him an asset in combat.
Optional Twitch Integration
One of the more unique features in Angel Guardian is its optional Twitch integration. During a stream, viewers can influence the game in real-time by spawning enemies, providing extra ammo, or triggering Prince Eiji’s special abilities. Corgee Inc. has confirmed that this feature is entirely optional, and the game is fully playable offline without any connection to a streaming audience.
Technical Details and Linux Support
While the full version of Angel Guardian is slated for a release on Linux, Mac, and Windows later this year, the initial demo will utilize Proton for Linux compatibility. The developer has stated that a native Linux build is part of their roadmap. Currently, there is no information regarding Steam Deck compatibility, controller support, or specific performance metrics for the title.
Interested players can wishlist the game on Steam now ahead of the demo’s August 3 debut.
