Read captured notes

In version 2.34, the gamepad control scheme for Strategy mode has been significantly redesigned and improved. I tried to make it as close to the classic control scheme for console games as possible, while taking into account the features of WARSHIFT 2. Among other changes, you can now navigate unit and building menus using either the D-Pad or the Right Stick without having to hold the Left Bumper.Strategy Mode Controls: \ – Move the cursor \ – Move the camera \ – Zoom the camera in/out \ – Rotate the camera \ – Select units \ – Order for units to move. \ – Select all units currently visible on the screen \ — select all your units \ – Select your hero (Combat Avatar) \ – Select your base (ARK) \ — Centering the cursor on the screen Control group commands have been added: \ — assign the selected units to a control group. \ — select the corresponding control group. Navigate the Strategy menu to access special unit commands and construct units or buildings: \ – Navigating through interface elements \ – Activate the selected Strategy menu button Quick access to menu sections, when nothing is selected: \ – Open the unit production menu \ – Open the orbital strike menu \ – Open the aircraft production menu \ – Open the building construction menuA new option for adjusting the camera and cursor movement speed has been added. A new sensitivity curve has been added to provide smoother and more precise aiming in Action Mode, as well as smoother camera movement in RTS Mode. Stick input is now less sensitive near the center, allowing for slower and more precise movement, while sensitivity gradually increases toward the outer edge of the stick for faster turning and camera movement.Unit selection with the cursor in Strategy Mode has also been made easier and more accurate. The control instructions in the tutorial missions have also been updated.Feel free to share your feedback and suggestions regarding the new gamepad controls! Other Improvements and bug fixes Added a separate option for inverting the Y-axis. Optimized energy consumption in airborne game mode. Improved the positioning accuracy of icons on the minimap. Fixed an issue that could make heroes invulnerable after respawning. Fixed an issue that could occur when constructing buildings. Introduced several other minor changes and improvements. Thank you for your feedback and bug reports, they continue to help me improve WARSHIFT 2. I hope you enjoy the game!

Update v2.26 – New Alien Features, Balance Improvements

Read captured notes

New Experimental Alien AbilitiesMost ground units of the Alien faction have received new abilities that allow them to replicate and evolve using their energy cores: Core DivisionThis ability allows you to rapidly expand your army even far away from your base. Order a unit to create two cocoons, sacrificing itself in the process. After a short time, two new units of the same type will emerge from the cocoons.EvolutionThis ability allows your units to transform into higher-tier creatures directly on the battlefield, increasing your army’s combat effectiveness. When ordered to evolve, a unit transforms into a cocoon, from which a more advanced creature will eventually emerge.Keep in mind that cocoons are extremely vulnerable, so you will need to protect them until the new units emerge. You will also need your hero to reach a certain level. This mechanic is designed to preserve the existing game balance while introducing new opportunities for tactical maneuvers. These new abilities have also been added to the ‘Unit Creation’ tutorial mission, which I recommend replaying to learn how they work. Balance Improvements and New Difficulty OptionsI’ve improved the balance between factions and added new options for customizing the game’s difficulty:New Difficulty Level - 'Insane'This setting affects the overall difficulty of the game and is available under Settings - Gameplay.New Enemy AI Tactics - 'Aggressive'Available in the Skirmish match settings, this option makes your opponent significantly more fierce.Combining Insane difficulty with Aggressive enemy AI is recommended for players seeking a truly intense challenge.Ultrawide Screen Supporting and UI FixesIf you experienced UI issues while constructing buildings or controlling units at non-standard aspect ratios, such as ultrawide resolutions, this update should resolve them. When Scale Interface is set to Scale with Screen, the game’s interface will now automatically adapt to the selected resolution based on the screen height, providing more comfortable controls and better visibility. You can also choose a fixed or enlarged interface size. This update also improves strategic camera movement via the minimap. Thanks for playing and have fun!

Update v2.2 - Commanding Troops in Action Mode

Read captured notes

Following numerous player requests, I have added the ability to command your troops directly while playing in Action Mode. You can now lead groups of units across the battlefield or call in artillery and air support at the right moment without switching back to RTS Mode. This feature created a surprisingly engaging new way to play, and it is definitely worth trying. To get started, create unit control groups in RTS Mode by pressing Ctrl + 1–9. You can create up to nine groups. Then switch to Action Mode and select a unit group using the 1–9 keys. Press 0 to clear the current selection. You can issue the following commands:E — Send the selected units to the location targeted by sight of your combat avatar.T — Activate Artillery Mode.Y — Activate Guard Mode.U — Activate Patrol Mode.I — Stop and cancel all current orders.I would also like to remind you that the WARSHIFT 2 Feedback Survey is still available. Your answers will help me understand what should be improved before the game’s release: WARSHIFT 2 - Player Feedback / QA Survey

Update V 2.18 - Introducing The Campaign

Read captured notes

WARSHIFT 2 features two epic story-driven campaigns for the Cyber Legion and the Alien Enclaves, with dozens of missions, including tutorials and even some live-action cutscenes (no AI). The campaign story centers around a brutal conflict between Earth corporations and alien forces fighting for control over the resources of disputed colonial worlds and ancient artifacts that could unlock the creation of hyperspace jump gates. Human corporations seek to secure their distant mining colonies by launching a decisive strike into the heart of the alien civilization, while the Aliens are willing to do anything to isolate their world from the invaders from Earth and reclaim the planets they consider their own. The outcome of this war between worlds will depend on the skill and strategy of Commanders on both sides of the battlefield!

Simply click on its icon, and it will deploy automatically. The carrier’s air wing has been expanded to 32 aircraft: 12 fighters, 8 bombers, 8 strike aircraft, and 4 helicopters.A new playable level has been added — Oblivion, set in orbit above the planet Inferra. It will be available in both skirmish and campaign modes, where intense battles unfold over control of hyperspace jump gates.

Update V 2.16 - Alien Carrier Killer

Read captured notes

The Aircraft Carrier is now available as an opponent, and you can face it in battle as shown in the video below:In the first battle, the Aliens relied on a straightforward battleship strategy and were overwhelmed by the unstoppable power of the Legion’s carrier strike group. However, in the second round, the Aliens were forced to take extreme measures and deploy their experimental weapon: kamikaze drones launched from destroyers. A mass launch of heavily armored kamikaze drones is specifically designed to break through the missile defense systems of carrier strike groups. This tactic of small, mobile groups of units proved highly effective in combat, reminiscent of the kamikaze attacks used by Japanese pilots during World War II.As a result, the Aliens have gained a new destroyer-class unit - the Carrier Killer.‘Disruptor’ - The Carrier Killer ‘Disruptor’ combines the role of a compact drone carrier with the durability and firepower of a destroyer. It can launch up to 5 heavily armored kamikaze drones simultaneously from medium range. It is also equipped with 3 anti-air turrets that engage enemy units using energy beams and plasma missiles.Balance has been restored! Now it all comes down to your skill - will the Aircraft Carrier remain an unstoppable superweapon, or will it be brought down by Alien ingenuity?

Update Notes V 2.13 - 2.14

Read captured notes

Alien artillery has been significantly changed: Tridents and Battleships no longer drop simple explosive bombs. Instead, they launch cocoons that hatch upon impact, releasing small spider-like predators. These creatures can attack enemy units and structures behind the front lines for a limited time. The Alien Battleship now attacks with a continuous energy beam instead of single shots. This creates a clear tactical difference between Cyborg and Alien ships. The Alien vessel no longer requires weapon reload time, but must remain in the enemy’s attack range longer. In return, it can bombard the heart of enemy bases with waves of kamikaze cocoons. The building construction process has been significantly improved: There is no longer a separate construction progress menu, and there is no need to press the Deploy button. Ordering and placing new buildings is now faster and more intuitive through their icons. You can also queue multiple buildings at once, and they will be constructed simultaneously. The gameplay videos below showcase different combat strategies: the Cyber forces focus on building a large army and delivering a devastating strike, while the Aliens rely on constant pressure with wave-based attacks, using automated factory production and base relocation.Improved AI for battleships: now the enemy can attack not only with artillery but also launch ballistic missiles from a long distance.Unit group icons. You can group units into groups using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + 1.. 0. Created groups can be accessed using the keyboard shortcut 1.. 0 or using the buttons on the left side of the screen.Base starting state setup options are now available. You can still build your base from scratch, or choose a starting setup with pre-built structures and focus more on action gameplay.Energy sources now feature unique designs for both the Cyborg and Alien factions.Significant optimizations have been made to graphics, animation and game scripts, improving performance when controlling large armies.Animations for heroes and regular units have been improved.Audio settings have been updated: volume sliders are now logarithmic for finer control. The issue with clipping when playing a large number of loud sounds has also been fixed. (You will need to readjust your sound settings.)The Lava Island map now includes 4 additional small islands with energy sources, which can be used tactically when playing as a flying hero.Improved controls for the hero Stryker, providing better maneuverability and stability in combat.Fixed issues related to building construction and numerous other bugs.
