Our favorite land shark's bath time is back to being picture-perfect. Splish splash, Jeff!   - Peni Parker's Portrait Polish: Fixed a visual inconsistency between the physical eye models and the 2D portrait artwork for Peni Parker's Liquid Shell costume. The SP//dr suit's optic sensors are fully synced, and Peni's looking sharply aligned in every dimension!   - Doctor Strange's Astral Smile: Fixed a teeth texture display issue on Doctor Strange's Astral Arcana costume. The Sorcerer Supreme shouldn't have to battle multiversal dental issues; his mystic grin is now totally flawless. Combined with Intel® Xe Low Latency (XeLL) technology to reduce input lag, this provides players with a much smoother and more responsive gaming experience. Fixes and OptimizationsHeroes- Cloak & Dagger's Laggy Veil: Fixed an issue where casting abilities might suffer a delayed response after switching forms while using the Oblivion Shroud Team-Up. The duo of light and dark is back in perfect sync, no more hesitation when stepping out of the shadows!  - Devil Dinosaur's Accidental Escort: Addressed a quirky bug where Devil Dinosaur using Savage Predation to bite an enemy had a chance to glitch the poor opponent into the allied spawn room. Moon Girl gave him a stern talking-to; enemies are officially off the VIP guest list!   - Rocket's Krakoan Misstep: Fixed an issue where Rocket Raccoon could experience abnormal positioning errors after passing through Krakoan gates while using the Planet X Pals Team-Up. Even a genius trash panda needs his portals calibrated properly. Safe travels, Rocket!   - Winter Soldier's Wasted Wipeout: Resolved a bug where Winter Soldier's Ultimate ability would unexpectedly reset when hitting a feigning-death Thor (during the Ragnarok Rebirth Team-Up). Bucky's bionic arm is back to respecting the God of Thunder's theatrical naps.  - Black Cat's Phantom Footsteps: Optimized Black Cat's footstep audio so her approach can be perceived normally. She's still a master thief, but now you might actually hear the purr-fect heist coming!  - Emma Frost's Phantom Soundscape: Fixed an issue where the sound effect for the Spirit Breaker Team-Up could trigger even when the Enhanced Effect was inactive. The White Queen's telepathy was manifesting a bit too loudly.  - Devil Dinosaur's Visual Clutter: Optimized several ability visual effects for Devil Dino (Impact Beam, Buddy Barrier, and the Surf & Turf Team-Up), reducing screen clutter. We cleared the air so you can actually see the giant red Rex stomping toward you! - Speedy Emote Exploit: Fixed an issue where traversal Emotes for Ultron, Jeff the Land Shark, and Devil Dinosaur could cause their in-game movement speed to glitch during combat. Showing off your moves should be fun, not a tactical speed hack! - Peni Parker's Speedy Snares: Fixed an issue where Peni's Cyber-Web Snare would unexpectedly enter cooldown immediately upon casting, resulting in a shorter actual cooldown than intended. Reduce damage-to-energy conversion from 55% to 50%. VANGUARDAngelaAsgard's assassin is dialing down the durability of her trickster team-up. - When selecting the Team-Up with Loki, reduce the maximum damage the illusions can take from 250 to 150. Captain AmericaThe First Avenger is beefing up his stamina and keeping his throws hitting hard all the way through. - Increase base Health from 300 to 350. - Remove Vibranium Energy Saw bounce damage falloff. - When selecting the Team-Up with Thor, increase Voltaic Union duration from 7s to 10s. - When selecting the Team-Up with Winter Soldier, slightly increase movement speed after using Stars Aligned. Deadpool (Vanguard)The Merc with a Mouth is tweaking his shooters and surviving his own bans with better healing. - Dual Desert Eagles & Dual Desert Eagles - Upgraded Damage Falloff: Adjust maximum Damage Falloff at 30m from 50% to 75% - Increase healing gained during The Ban Hammer and The Ban Hammer - Upgraded from 25/s to 35/s. Increase Bonus Health gained when releasing The Ban Hammer (Ultimate Ability) and The Big Test (Ultimate Ability)  from 200 to 300.. - Upgrade! Reduce experience required for every "Upgrade!" to 75% of the original values. Devil DinosaurOur prehistoric pal is beefing up his bite and making a bigger splash when he teams up! - Increase Bleed duration stacked on enemies per Impact Beam hit from 0.5s to 1s. - Increase Bleed damage from 0.75% to 1.2%. - When selecting the Team-Up with Punisher, increase Primal Punishment projectile speed from 120m/s to 150m/s. Doctor StrangeThe Sorcerer Supreme is manifesting faster munitions and spinning maelstroms with no drop-off alongside the Green Goliath. - Increase Daggers of Denak projectile speed from 60m/s to 80m/s and reduce attack interval between casts from 0.9s to 0.8s. - When selecting the Team-Up with Hulk, remove Gamma Maelstrom spell field damage falloff. Emma FrostThe White Queen is stepping up her resilience and stretching her telepathic reach. - Increase base health from 650 to 675. - Increase the range of Telepathic Pulse from 18m to 20m. - Increase Carbon Crush dash distance from 7m to 8.5m. GrootOur favorite Flora Colossus is growing even tougher roots. - Increase Bonus Health gained when awakening an Ironwood Wall from 40 to 50. MagnetoThe Master of Magnetism is scaling back his defenses and his chaotic collaboration. - Reduce base health from 650 to 600. - Reduce Metal Bulwark and Iron Bulwark Shield Value from 250 to 200. - When selecting the Team-Up with Scarlet Witch, increase Metallic Chaos cooldown from 12s to 18s.   - During Metallic Chaos, reduce Chaos Greatsword spell field damage from 40 to 35 (total single-strike damage reduced from 85 to 80).   - Enhanced Effect: Reduce Mag-Cannon single projectile damage from 20 to 10 (total single-shot damage reduced from 45 to 35). Peni ParkerSP//dr's speeding up the web-slinging and losing the sluggishness while doing it. - Reduce Cyber-Web Cluster firing interval from 0.3s to 0.25s. Remove the self-slow effect when firing Cyber-Web Clusters. - When selecting the Team-Up with Black Panther, reduce Vibranium Mech cooldown from 20s to 15s. We've seen the meta shifting, and to ensure the combat arena remains as dynamic and competitive as possible, we are deploying this emergency hotfix. Rest assured, our Watchers will remain vigilant, and further recalibrations will be made as new threats emerge. GLOBAL CHANGESThe front lines of Season 9 have been intense. We've seen our Strategists absorbing more pressure than ever, which has suppressed their efficiency in gaining Ultimate Ability energy. Therefore, we will be partially reverting the efficiency of Ultimate Ability energy gained from healing actions for Strategists. - Increase healing-to-energy conversion efficiency for all Strategists from 60% to 70%. DUELISTAfter the removal of the Team-Up Anchors, the performance of Cyclops and Phoenix was lower than expected, so we will be restoring some of their damage capabilities to ensure their competitiveness in the new environment.Meanwhile, our intel on Black Widow following her combat overhaul is still being gathered. Data indicates that while her win-rate is trending upwards, the master spy is still finding her footing in the new meta. To give her the edge she needs, we're providing a minor tactical enhancement in this patch.Black Panther- Fixed an issue where Black Panther would incorrectly accumulate a damage boost when his recoverable shield was restoring, causing abnormal damage.Black Widow- Increase Red Room Rifle damage per hit from 40 to 45. Hulk is seeing an adjustment to his irradiated muscles, Doctor Strange is reinforcing his mystic barriers, and our brand-new Regenerative Shields are officially entering the fray!Let's dive into the patch notes and see how the meta is shifting! ADJUSTMENTSGLOBAL CHANGES1) To perfectly sync with the massive gameplay changes introduced this season, we've once again adjusted the efficiency of Ultimate Ability energy generation. This ensures the overall rhythm of combat remains stable and exciting. The specific tweaks are:- Vanguards & Duelists: Reduce damage-to-energy conversion from 70% to 55%. - Strategists: Reduce healing-to-energy conversion from 75% to 60%. Reduce damage-to-energy conversion from 75% to 55%. 2) For Season 9, we are officially introducing a brand-new type of Health: Regenerative Shields! Here's how they work:- Regenerative Shields operate using the exact same logic as base Health. Any mechanic that relies on base Health (like percentage-based healing or percentage-based damage) will apply identically to Regenerative Shields. However, Regenerative Shields possess a powerful unique property: If you manage to avoid taking any damage for 5 seconds, your shields will automatically begin regenerating, fully recovering all chargeable shield points over the next 5 seconds! (For example, if you have a 300 Regenerative Shield pool, it recovers at 60/s. If you have a 150 Regenerative Shield pool, it recovers at 30/s.) Hero AdjustmentsThe balance tweaks in this patch were primarily driven by two core factors:- First, we evaluated every hero's overall performance during the Season 8.5 meta. To guarantee a baseline level of balance across the board, our primary focus was targeting heroes who were heavily overperforming or severely underperforming during that patch. - Second, and most importantly, we conducted a comprehensive balance pass on every single hero based on the new Team-Up system. We calculated the raw strength of their new Team-Up effects and analyzed their playtest data in this wildly new meta. Note: Because this patch isn't just about "fixing Season 8.5," you might notice that some heroes who were underperforming last season are still getting nerfed today. This is because, in our internal playtests, these specific heroes synergized so incredibly well with the new Team-Up system that they became utterly overpowered. We had to slightly reduce their baseline stats to ensure their overall gameplay experience, especially when paired with their Team-Up partner, remains fair and balanced. (For example, with the return of his Gamma Charge Team-Up with Hulk, Iron Man was slightly passing his absolute peak power levels! The Sorcerer Supreme has realigned the mystic geometries, healing flows uninterrupted once more!  - Cyclops' Craggy Conundrum: Fixed an issue where the secondary ground explosion from Cyclops' Ultimate Ability would occasionally fail to damage targets standing behind barriers on uneven or rugged terrain. Scott Summers’ optic fury wait for no rock; there's nowhere left to hide!- Cyclops' Optic Optimization: Enhanced the visual distinction of Cyclops' ability effects, making it much easier to tell the difference between enemy optics and allied ones.
